Positive-reinforcement dog trainer and behavior consultant.

I use safe, humane, science-based methods and force-free training that you and your dog can feel good about. Help is on the way!

I believe in you and your dog and know you're doing your best with your current information.

Dog training is unregulated. Transparency is essential to building trust! You are always welcome to ask questions about me, my education, and any proposed training methods during our sessions.

Lizzy has been amazing for our family! We adopted a one-year-old blue heeler mix who arrived with a lot of fears and energy - and Lizzy has been in our corner to understand what’s going on in our pup’s head and also has given us many tools to help our guy have a happier, healthier outlook on things that used to cause him a ton of anxiety. We love working with Lizzy and so appreciate her warmth, wisdom and positivity. If you’re looking to fix specific behavior challenges and want one-on-one guidance, Lizzy is your person!”

Who Are The Good Dog People?

They encompass trusted trainers, rescues, shelters, manufacturers of humane training equipment and supplies, veterinarians, groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters, boarding facilities, advocacy groups, and educational programs like my alma mater, The Academy for Dog Trainers.

If I don't take a type of case, I can guide you to a credentialed force-free trainer who can help.

“We work with Lizzy in individual virtual sessions and are currently taking her virtual Recall for a Meatball class. Lizzy has been the glue that has helped keep me, my husband, and our pup on the same page. She has helped us make sense of behaviors and situations that have been initially hard to understand, and she has translated the science behind dog (and parent!) behavior and training into goals and plans that we can grasp and implement. We come away from every session feeling better about ourselves and our pup. Lizzy also helped us navigate the sudden loss of our first pup with such deep compassion, and was instrumental in our readiness and ability to adopt again. Anyone who is fortunate enough to work with Lizzy will benefit from her expertise, experience, outstanding character, and boundless love of all things DOG!”

Available Classes

There are two fun, supportive, live online classes for you to enroll in!

Recall for a Meatball

Recall (coming when called) is an essential life skill with safety implications. If your dog doesn’t come when you call, or worse, they run away, this course is for you! Recall for a Meatball supports you and your dog with fun, effective, and humane step-by-step training plans for all skill levels. Imagine greater freedom and comfort in your life with your dog!

Triumphant Teens

Adolescent dogs can be challenging! If you're struggling with your "teen" dog's behavior — the bad decisions they make, the training they seem to have forgotten — this course is for you! Triumphant Teens supports you and your dog with management, training, enrichment, and exercise strategies for living your best life together during this phase.

There are two open spaces!

The Community Dog

A supportive, friendly, once-monthly small-group Zoom gathering of dog guardians committed to a force-free lifestyle.

Over the years, many clients and students have asked for a safe space outside of social media platforms to share and talk about life with their dogs. My answer is The Community Dog, a supportive, friendly, once-monthly community gathering via Zoom.

You’ll connect with other guardians who value rewards-based training and a force-free lifestyle for a meaningful hour once a month.

About Lizzy + Her Approach

I vow to use efficient, force-free, Fear Free methods in our work together. I will respect your time and financial investment. It would be unethical for me to make promises about outcomes regarding animal behavior, but I am all about honoring your goals!

I'll bring compassion, patience, knowledge, and kindness to every session—maybe a few laughs, too! Also, bags of chicken, cheese, or turkey.
